Your data
Delete your account or data
There is no account to delete
The browser game has no sign-up and no login. We do not create a profile for you, and we do not hold a username or password on your behalf. There is no account record to remove.
Data stored on your own device
Game preferences and progress may be saved locally in your browser or on your device. That information never leaves your device as personal data, and you can remove it yourself at any time:
- On desktop: open your browser settings, find site or cookie settings, and clear data for this site.
- On Android or iOS: clear the browsing data for the site in your mobile browser settings.
- Using a private or incognito window: the data is discarded when you close the window.
If you gave us an email address
The only way we hold an email address for you is if you typed one into a form on this site, such as the physical-game interest list or the feedback form. Use the form below to have that address and anything attached to it deleted.
Request deletion
Submit the form and we log your request with the date and time it arrived. An administrator carries out the deletion, removing your account and associated personal data except anything we are legally required to keep. You will get a confirmation by email once it is complete.
Prefer to email instead?
You can also email hello@whatthechessgame.com from the address you want removed. Either route reaches the same place.
When the Android app arrives
The app's Profile area will link to this same deletion process, so the option is easy to find from inside the game as well.
