Using the game and this site
You are welcome to play What the Chess? and use this site for your own personal, noncommercial enjoyment. Please do not attempt to disrupt the service, interfere with other players, or access parts of the system you have not been given access to.
The game is in development
The browser build is a work in progress. Rules, balance, formations and the behaviour of the Jester may change between builds. Features may be added or removed, and the game may be temporarily unavailable.
Locally stored progress or preferences may be reset by an update. Nothing on this site should be read as a promise that a particular feature, platform or release date will arrive.
The physical edition
- The physical game is not for sale on this site.
- No pricing, specification or availability date is being offered or promised here.
- Registering interest is nonbinding: it is not a preorder, no payment is taken, nothing is reserved, and it creates no obligation on either side.
- Product photography is illustrative. Components and packaging may differ between production runs.
Intellectual property
The What the Chess? name, logo, artwork, piece designs and game materials belong to us. You may share screenshots and talk about the game freely, including in videos and articles. Please do not sell our artwork, or produce copies of the game or its components, without written permission.
Feedback you send us
If you send us feedback, bug reports or suggestions, we may use them to improve the game without owing you payment or credit. You keep the right to your own ideas; you are simply allowing us to act on what you told us.
No warranty
The site and game are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind. We cannot guarantee that the game will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or incidental losses arising from use of the site or the game.
